Prolong® is naturally occurring rock phosphate that is composted with liquid fish nutrients generated from wild catch fish waste, carbon sources and select naturally occurring fungi. This fertiliser from Incitec Pivot Fertilisers has been designed for biological or organic farming systems. Prolong is certified for organic input by NASAA (The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia) NASAA Cert No. 3750.
Prolong is also effectively applied in situations where farmers may be contemplating adopting these systems in the future and where it is desirable to use a phosphorus source with low water solubility. Available as a straight only from Geelong Primary Distribution Centre, Prolong is best suited for pastures in high rainfall environments, with acidic soils, and a reasonable fertiliser history.
