Incitec Pivot's key management systems are now certified as complying with the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.  External auditors are used to ensure compliance with the standard.

Quality Management (AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000)

This is a generic standard for quality management systems.  It can be used by all organisations irrespective of type, size or product or service provided.

Its purpose is to set up a system that allows an organisation to meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements.

It also aims to enhance customer satisfaction by including processes for continual improvements and assurance of conformity.

The following areas of Industrial Chemical activities are certified under AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.

• Fluosilicic acid manufacture, sale and distribution at Geelong (certificate number: QEC21369)
• Manufacture of ammonia and urea at Gibson Island (certificate number 6565).

Analytical Services (NATA - ISO IEC 17025)

This is a special purpose standard for laboratories that specifies the general requirements for their technical competence.

Its emphasis is on establishing the technical competence of a laboratory for a defined set of tests, measurements or calibrations.  It also sets down management standards.

The following areas of Industrial Chemical activities are certified under NATA - ISO IEC 17025.

• Laboratories associated with Geelong and the Gibson Island manufacturing sites.
